British children's writer and illustrator The Estate Of Judith Kerr has been awarded the BookTrust Lifetime Achievement Award.
Kerr joins Shirley Hughes as a recipient of the award and Shami Chakrabarti, Lifetime Achievement Award judge, commented 'Judith Kerr represents the best of Britain, Europe, literature and the enduring power of storytelling and the written word'.
